How to get to the A’DAM Lookout

To reach the A’DAM Lookout, visitors should travel to Amsterdam Centraal Station and follow signs for the “IJ-Zijde” (IJ-Side) ferry terminals. Take the F3 ferry towards Buiksloterweg, which is a free service operating 24 hours a day with a transit time of approximately three minutes.

Upon exiting the ferry, the A’DAM Tower is the tall building located immediately to the left. The entrance to the Lookout is clearly marked at the base of the tower.

Parking at the A’DAM Lookout

Parking is available in the A’DAM Tower underground car park, which is accessible 24 hours a day via the Overhoeksplein entrance. The current rate is around €1.35 per 15 minutes (€5.40 per hour), though digital payment is required as the facility does not accept cash.

Alternative parking can be found at the nearby Parking IJ-oever Centrum, which is within walking distance but requires crossing the river via the ferry if approaching from the city centre side.

How long to spend at the A’DAM Lookout

Most visitors spend between 60 and 90 minutes at the attraction. This timeframe allows for the elevator experience, viewing the city from both the indoor and outdoor decks, and participating in any add-on activities such as the swing.

If visitors intend to dine at the Panorama Restaurant or the revolving Moon Restaurant, an additional 60 to 90 minutes should be factored into the itinerary.

Accessibility at the A’DAM Lookout

The A’DAM Lookout is fully accessible to visitors using wheelchairs. Wide elevators provide access to the indoor observation deck and the rooftop terrace, and the ferry from Central Station features level boarding.

However, certain high-adrenaline activities, such as the “Over the Edge” swing, have specific physical requirements and may not be accessible to all guests. Accessible toilets are located within the building.

The experience begins with a high-speed elevator journey to the 20th floor, which includes a sound and light sequence. Once at the top, visitors have access to a 360-degree indoor observation deck that provides views of the Amsterdam canal belt, the port area, and the polders to the north.

The Sky Deck is the outdoor portion of the attraction, located on the rooftop. This level houses the “Over the Edge” swing, where participants are strapped into a motorised swing that moves over the edge of the building.

The Amsterdam VR Ride is an indoor virtual reality experience that simulates a rollercoaster journey through the city’s landmarks. For refreshments, the Panorama Restaurant & Rooftop Bar serves snacks and drinks with views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
