What makes Casa Batllo special

Casa Batllo has become one of Barcelona top attractions in recent years. As one of the few Antoni Gaui buildings you can go inside, Casa Batllo showcases the architect’s unique style from a different perspective.

It’s also an impressive visitor experience, with specially-composed music, site-specific art installations and an augmented reality experience.

Photography inside Casa Batllo

However, one of the main reasons for visiting Casa Batllo is to get photographs of Gaudi’s quirky architectural flourishes. Alas, this becomes largely impossible during peak periods, as there are simply too many people inside the building. Unless you’re very lucky, every photo will have random arms, legs and heads in it.

Early morning visits to Casa Batllo

If you want to get good photos inside Casa Batllo, the best plan is to visit early. And, by that, I don’t mean booking into the early general entry sessions – I mean the special, more expensive early morning sessions.

Casa Batllo ticket prices

General admission prices to Casa Batllo cost from €29. Prices vary depending on how many tickets are left, and tickets are best bought online in advance.

However, there are two special ticket windows at the start of the day where fewer visitors are allowed into the building. Book for entry at 08.30 or 08.45, and it will cost you €45. This “be the first” morning ticket costs more, but it provides the better visitor experience.

Again, if you want a chance of getting in at this time, book online in advance.
