How to get cheaper tickets for Casa Loma, Toronto

Due to the lack of booking fee, it is cheaper to book tickets for Toronto’s lavish castle, Casa Loma, through a third party. So you might as well get the lower ticket prices.

  • To skip the explanation, and book Casa Loma tickets without the booking fee, head this way.

Why visit Casa Loma, Toronto?

Perched on a hill overlooking Toronto, Canada, Casa Loma is a grand, early 20th-century mansion that feels more like a European castle than a Canadian mansion.

Built by financier Sir Henry Pellatt, the Gothic Revival castle comes with soaring towers, shamelessly fancy stonework, and over 90 rooms filled with period furnishings.

You visit partly because it’s a ludicrously fancy house and partly because it offers an insight into the lavish lifestyle of Toronto’s elite in the early 1900s.

Movies at Casa Loma

Entrance to Casa Loma includes a documentary on Sir Henry Pellatt and a Hollywood film gallery, showing off the TV shows and movies that have been shot there. Robocop, X-Men, Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Hannibal are amongst the films that Casa Loma stars in.

How much does entry to Casa Loma cost?

Go to the Casa Loma website, and general admission tickets cost $47.17. That’s the ticket price, plus a somewhat nefarious booking fee.

If you object to paying a booking fee of almost 18% on your Casa Loma ticket – and, frankly, I would – then there is a way round it.

Casa Loma ticket prices without the booking fee?

Unusually and absurdly, it is cheaper to book Casa Loma indirectly. I had a look at GetYourGuide, which sells Casa Loma entrance tickets.

Importantly, GetYourGuide sells Casa Loma tickets without a booking fee. So they only cost $40.

Book through this link, and I earn a small commission while you get your tickets at the right price and dodge the hefty booking fee.

Everyone wins, hey?

Oddly, this trick also works for getting cheaper tickets at the Hockey Hall of Fame and reducing the cost of entry to the Art Gallery of Ontario.
