Mykonos to Delos ferry: Times, prices and departure point

The Mykonos to Delos ferry is the easiest and cheapest way to see the remarkable Delos Archaeological Site.

Why visit Delos?

The historic, World Heritage-listed island of Delos is one of the most attractive day trip options from Mykonos. Delos is regarded as the birthplace of Olympian god Apollo, and it has a much-storied past as a pilgrimage site and trading centre.

The ruins of Delos are impressive and on a large scale. It’s easy to spend a good half day wandering around the Delos Archaeological Site, although not all the landmarks are originals. The original Lions of Delos, for example, are inside the island’s museum.

Mykonos to Delos ferry timetable

It is not possible to stay on Delos. Or, practically, visit Delos in winter. Therefore, your only realistic option is to visit on a day trip from Mykonos between April and November.

The cheapest way to do this is to take the Mykonos to Delos ferry run by Delos Tours. The timetables for these ferries are highly changeable, so check first. However, as a rule of thumb, the first Mykonos to Delos ferry runs at 10am every day.

The Mykonos to Delos ferry departs from Mykonos Old Port at the edge of the island’s main town. Cruise passengers should note that this is 2.5km away from the Mykonos cruise terminal.

The ferry crossing takes 30 to 40 minutes.

Mykonos to Delos tours

The other option is to take a tour to Delos. This at least gives you a guide who can tell you what you’re looking at while amongst the Delos ruins.

Half day tours to Delos from Mykonos are available for from €60. These take the same ferry over to Delos, incidentally – don’t go expecting a private transfer.

The fancier alternative is a day cruise from Mykonos that takes in Delos as well as nearby Rhenia. This cruise includes a barbecue lunch, plus a swimming and snorkelling stop.
