BridgeMuseum opening hours
BridgeMuseum opens 7 days a week, with hours that extend over summer. Between February and November, it opens 9am to 6pm Sunday to Thursday, and 9am to 6:30pm Friday and Saturday. Between December and January, it opens daily, 9am to 8:30pm. SkyHouse After Hours sessions run Friday and Saturday evenings, starting at 5:35pm (February–November) or 7:35pm (December–January), for roughly 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Last admission is one hour before closing for the Day Session.

Concession rates apply to eligible Australian and New Zealand Seniors Card and full-time student card holders. A 20% peak season surcharge applies from 25 December to 4 January.

BridgeMuseum does not currently appear among the inclusions of Sydney’s main multi-attraction pass, Go City, whose Explorer and All-Inclusive passes instead cover attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Tower Eye, Taronga Zoo and the Australian National Maritime Museum.
How to get to BridgeMuseum
BridgeMuseum is entered via the Sydney Harbour Bridge pedestrian footpath, within walking distance of Circular Quay, Wynyard and Milsons Point train stations. From The Rocks, take the Harbour Bridge lift or stairs on Cumberland Street, opposite The Glenmore Hotel, then walk 300 metres north to the entrance. From Milsons Point, take the stairs or lift to the walkway and head 800 metres south. Rideshare and taxi guests should be dropped at the Cumberland Street lift, not on the bridge roadway or Hickson Road.
Parking at BridgeMuseum
Several Wilson Parking car parks sit nearby in The Rocks, including the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Clocktower, 155 George Street and Quay West car parks. Metered street parking is available along Cumberland Street and surrounding streets, including designated Mobility scheme parking zones.
How long to spend at BridgeMuseum
BridgeMuseum recommends allowing around 60 minutes to explore the exhibitions. Visitors climbing to the SkyHouse should also allow extra time for the 200-plus stairs, with several rest points along the way.
Accessibility at BridgeMuseum
BridgeMuseum sits inside the heritage-listed South-East Pylon, built in the 1930s, so wheelchair and lift access are not available inside the building. Visitors must be able to climb more than 200 stairs unaided, and the museum is unable to store prams, large bags or suitcases. The museum supports the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower programme, offers a self-guided translation app for Deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors in place of audio, and provides a translation app in Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, German and French. Accredited assistance animals are welcome, though the metal stairs may be challenging for some to navigate. One immersive exhibition includes a six-minute surround projection that may not suit visitors with photosensitive epilepsy or vertigo.
Inside BridgeMuseum: what to see
The journey begins in Before Steel, There Was Warrane, a reflective space on Gadigal Country overlooking the harbour before the Bridge existed.
Windows Through Time charts Sydney’s transformation through layered visual perspectives, alongside a team of playful digital “worker” characters.
Designing History explores the Bridge’s engineering and construction through interactive displays and the voices of those who built it.
At the top, SkyHouse & Lookout sits 87 metres above sea level, offering panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, Aboriginal Country and the city layered together.
Your Bridge, Your Story turns personal, with community memorabilia and the chance to add your own story to a growing collage.
The visit closes with More Than a Bridge, an immersive six-minute finale combining light, sound and projection.
