Why visit Bundegi Beach, Exmouth?

Less well known than beaches on the Ningaloo Reef side of the peninsula, such as Mauritius Beach, Turquoise Bay and Osprey Bay, Bundegi Beach is nonetheless a gorgeous place to hang out.

This Exmouth beach is 1.6km, gently curving and usually comes with sparklingly clear blue-teal water.

Is it safe to swim at Bundegi Beach?

Bundegi Beach is well protected from the ocean by the North West Cape. It is east-facing, so almost entirely avoids the ocean swells. There is also a stretch of fringing reef, called the Bundegi Reef, which offers an extra layer of protection and is pleasant for snorkelling.

Crocodiles have made it down to the Ningaloo Coast in the past, but it is exceptionally rare. Sharks are also rare, but have attacked in these parts before.

There are no lifeguard patrols at Bundegi Beach.
