Shete Boka National Park opening hours
Shete Boka National Park is open daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The ticket office closes at 3:00 pm, and all visitors must leave the park by 4:00 pm.
The opening time moved from 9:00 am to 8:00 am on 1 July 2026, according to a Carmabi announcement. The park’s FAQ page still lists the older 9:00 am to 5:00 pm hours, so rely on the opening hours page. The official site lists no seasonal changes, but the park closes on some public holidays. It closed on King’s Day, 27 April 2026. The opening hours page carries a yearly holiday schedule, so check it before you visit.

Tickets are sold at the park’s ticket office, and a detailed map of the bays is sold at the entrance. The park is self-guided, and it occasionally announces special activities or guided tours.
Shete Boka National Park is not part of a city pass scheme such as Go City or CityPASS, so no pass inclusions apply.
How to get to Shete Boka National Park
Shete Boka National Park is on Weg naar Westpunt on Curaçao’s north coast, next to Christoffel National Park. The drive from Willemstad takes about 45 minutes.
Public transport is limited. Bus route 9A from Otrabanda runs towards Westpunt, but services are infrequent, so check the operator’s timetable first. West-side routes cost ANG 2.50 per ride.
There are several tour options which visit the national park, the most popular of which is a full day island highlights tour.
Parking at Shete Boka National Park
Yes, visitors can drive into the park and use its two car routes. The official site says you can drive straight to Boka Tabla and get close to most inlets by car. The fees page lists no separate parking charge. The park asks visitors to lock their cars, leave no articles inside and turn the lights off.
How long to spend at Shete Boka National Park
Allow about one to two hours. Each of the two trails takes about one hour, so walking both takes about two hours. The car routes need less walking. Arriving at the 8:00 am opening leaves the most time before the 4:00 pm exit deadline.
Accessibility at Shete Boka National Park
The park’s trails have loose, uneven gravel, so accessibility on foot is limited. The park recommends the car routes for visitors with mobility impairments. Some facilities, such as the bathroom, are accessible, and staff can help with special needs. Visitors with asthma, diabetes or heart conditions should limit exertion and heat exposure. Leashed pets are welcome.
What to see at Shete Boka National Park
The park has about 10 pocket bays along almost 10 km of rocky coast. Waves from the open sea crash into the limestone cliffs.
Boka Tabla is the first stop. Waves thunder into an underground cavern. Steps cut into the rock lead to the cavern mouth, where visitors can sit at the edge and watch the surf.
Limestone bluffs above the cavern give views of Curaçao’s rugged north coast. The inlets below are protected turtle nesting areas.
Boka Pistol is an inlet where waves burst upwards with a sound like gunfire. Its trail crosses flat limestone hills with panoramic views.
Boka Wandomi has a natural bridge and limestone bluffs. Its trail crosses rolling lava hills and returns along the coast to Boka Tabla.
Boka Kalki is a sandy inlet where sea turtles sometimes lay eggs. Hawksbill, loggerhead and green turtles nest in the park, mainly from May to December. Carmabi researchers monitor the nesting.
The two trails are Boka Kalki to Boka Pistol, and Boka Wandomi. Each takes about one hour. Limestone terraces formed from coral remains lie over the Curaçao Lava Formation, which includes pillow-shaped basalt.

Things to do near Shete Boka National Park
