What to see inside Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
The Capilano Suspension Bridge. The 137-metre main crossing spans 70 metres above the Capilano River, swaying visibly when full. It was originally built in 1889 and rebuilt in 1956 using steel cables capable of holding the weight of two fully loaded 747s.
Treetops Adventure. Seven smaller suspension bridges connect eight 200-year-old Douglas firs at up to 30 metres above the forest floor, giving a canopy-level perspective on the rainforest.
Cliffwalk. A series of narrow cantilevered walkways and bridges fixed to the granite cliff face high above the canyon. Opened in 2011, this is the most recent and most vertigo-inducing of the park’s main attractions.
The Kia’palano area and Story Centre. Totem poles, a trout pond, and short riverside trails explore the area’s First Nations and settler heritage.
