Return tickets are valid for same-day travel only. Concession tickets need valid ID, such as a Seniors Card, an Australian Pensioner Card, a DVA Health Card or an Australian Student Card. International seniors can show a passport. An additional child ticket is valid only with a family ticket.

The annual pass gives 12 months of unlimited return rides, 15% off extra full-price fares, and 10% off at the Eagle Café and gift shop. Picnic and mountain biking tickets cost $29.90 for adults. Current and former service men and women enter free on days such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.

How to get to the Arthurs Seat Eagle

The Eagle has two stations, and you can start your journey at either one. The Base Station is at 1085 Arthurs Seat Road, Dromana. The Summit Station is at 795 Arthurs Seat Road, Arthurs Seat. By car, the Eagle is about an hour from Melbourne CBD. Type “Arthurs Seat Eagle” into your maps app and choose the Base or Summit Station.

Free parking is available at both the Base and Summit Stations. Spaces can be limited on busy weekends and holidays, and there is an overflow area in the adjacent state park. Accessible parking is available at both stations.

How long to spend at the Arthurs Seat Eagle

A return ride takes about 30 minutes. Allow two to three hours if you add the café, the summit views, Seawinds Gardens or a short walk. You can stay at the summit for as long as you like before you ride back.

The gondola ride. Detachable gondolas glide above Arthurs Seat State Park, with open and enclosed cabins. The ride takes about 15 minutes each way, and each gondola holds up to eight guests.

The views. From the summit, the view stretches across Port Phillip Bay and the Mornington Peninsula towards the Melbourne skyline. The summit is over 300 metres above sea level.

The Eagle Café. The café at the Summit Station serves pies, salads, sandwiches, wraps and ice cream. You can eat inside your gondola as you ride.

The walking tracks. Tracks lead from the summit through Arthurs Seat State Park, including viewpoints. The Arthurs Seat Circuit Walk is a 1.8-kilometre loop.
