Upcoming maintenance closures: Awana Skyway closes for quarterly maintenance from 13 to 17 July 2026. During this closure, the alternative Genting SkyWay (a separate cable car from Gohtong Jaya, 15 minutes by car) continues to operate. Awana Skyway ticket prices

The standard gondola costs RM11 one-way or RM19 return. Adding express boarding at Lane A brings the price to RM17 one-way or RM32 return. The glass floor gondola costs RM32 one-way or RM54 return, reduced to RM29 one-way / RM48 return when booked online at least one day in advance.

Children with a height under 90cm ride free. Senior citizens pay RM6 one-way and RM10 return on the standard gondola. OKU (disabled) card holders pay the same concessionary rate. A chartered private gondola costs RM324 one-way or RM594 return. Oversized baggage costs RM22 one-way or RM38 return. How to get to the Awana Skyway

Sky Sentral, the lower boarding station, is on Level 4 of the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets building in Gohtong Jaya. From Kuala Lumpur, take the Karak Highway (E8) to the Genting Highlands exit, then follow signs to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets and Sky Sentral.

A free shuttle bus connects Sky Sentral with Resorts World Awana and Gohtong Jaya Bus Terminal. Public bus services from Kuala Lumpur’s Pudu Sentral and TBS terminal reach Gohtong Jaya, from where the shuttle bus completes the connection. The upper station is on Level 4 of SkyAvenue at Genting Highlands, with directional signage throughout the building.

Parking at the Awana Skyway

Free parking is available at the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets car park adjacent to Sky Sentral. Leave your car here and board the cable car directly from Level 4.

Luggage storage is available 24 hours a day at Level 2, Sky Sentral. Rates are RM22 for small, RM44 for medium, and RM65 for large bags.

How long to spend at the Awana Skyway

A single journey takes 10 minutes. The cable car covers 2.8 kilometres, ascending 620 metres from Sky Sentral (1,105m above sea level) to the Genting Highlands Station (1,725m above sea level).

Allow at least 30 minutes for a return trip, and longer if stopping at the Chin Swee Station to visit Chin Swee Caves Temple, which is included in all tickets at no extra cost.

Accessibility at the Awana Skyway

Wheelchair users and guests with pushchairs can board the standard gondola. Baby strollers only (not full-size pushchairs) are permitted in the glass floor gondola. Inform a team member before boarding to receive assistance.

OKU card holders pay a concessionary rate of RM6 one-way, available at ticketing counters only on presentation of an OKU card. There is step-free access within Sky Sentral, where lifts serve all floors.

Inside the Awana Skyway: what to see

The Awana Skyway spans 2.8 kilometres on a fleet of 100 gondolas, including 10 glass-floor gondolas. Gondolas travel at up to 6 metres per second and can carry 3,000 passengers per hour in each direction. The line has 22 towers, the tallest standing at 53 metres.

The Chin Swee Station (middle stop) provides a complimentary entry point to the Chin Swee Caves Temple, a Taoist hilltop temple with nine storeys and a 15-metre seated Buddha statue. Passengers can disembark, explore, and re-board using the same ticket to continue in either direction. Keep your ticket or QR code to re-board.

At the Genting Highlands Station, the upper terminal connects directly to SkyAvenue, the resort’s main shopping and dining mall. From here, Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park, Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park, and the resort’s hotels are all accessible on foot or by internal walkway.
