The Langkawi SkyCab operates daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The last ticket is sold at 6:00 p.m. and the last gondola boards at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesdays, weekly maintenance means operations begin at 12:00 noon rather than 9:30 a.m.
Annual closure: the cable car closes entirely from 12 to 24 July each year for maintenance and inspection. Operations can also pause without notice during heavy rain, strong winds, or lightning in the area. Check the official site or call +60 4-961 2000 on the day of your visit if weather is uncertain.

How to get to the Langkawi SkyCab
The base station is at Oriental Village, on the north-west coast of Langkawi island, around 20 minutes by car from Langkawi International Airport and 39 minutes from Kuah town. There is no public bus service to Oriental Village.
Most visitors arrive by taxi or private hire car. For GPS navigation, search “Langkawi Cable Car” on Waze or Google Maps rather than the street address, which does not always resolve correctly.
Parking at the Langkawi SkyCab
Free parking is available at Oriental Village, directly beside the base station. The car park is large and can accommodate coaches and tour buses.
During school holidays and public holidays the car park fills quickly, so arriving before 10:00 a.m. is advisable.
How long to spend at the Langkawi SkyCab
The gondola ride to the Top Station takes around 15 minutes each way. Most visitors spend 2 to 3 hours covering the ride, the Middle Station, and the Top Station viewpoints.
Allow half a day if adding the SkyBridge walk (10 minutes on foot from the Top Station, or 2 minutes by SkyGlide), SkyDome, SkyRex, and Oriental Village at the base.
Accessibility at the Langkawi SkyCab
The standard gondola can accommodate most visitors. However, the mountain stations involve uneven terrain, steps, and sloped walkways. The path from the Top Station to the SkyBridge includes 324 steps, and the SkyGlide is the easier alternative for those who cannot manage the climb.
Visitors with specific mobility requirements should contact Panorama Langkawi at [email protected] or +60 4-961 2000 before visiting.

Inside the Langkawi SkyCab: what to see
The Langkawi SkyCab holds the record for the longest free-span mono-cable car in the world. The 2.2-kilometre route rises through ancient Machinchang rainforest, over rock formations more than 550 million years old.
The Middle Station (650 metres above sea level) offers 360° views of Langkawi’s islands and coastline, and is the boarding point for the Eagle’s Nest SkyWalk, a 38-metre glass platform extending over the eastern cliffs. The Top Station (708 metres above sea level) has two viewing platforms with clear-day sightlines to the Andaman Sea and southern Thailand.
From the Top Station, the SkyBridge — a 125-metre curved suspension bridge — is reachable by a 10-minute jungle trail of 324 steps, or by the SkyGlide cabin (RM16, 2 minutes). Back at the base, 3D Art Langkawi, SkyDome, and SkyRex are included in bundle packages. SkyBistro, at the Top Station, serves food and drinks with summit views. Oriental Village at the base has shops and restaurants, including a Gloria Jean’s Coffees outlet that opened in January 2026.
