Last updated: April 2026. Many guides and booking platforms describe Krazy World as a zoo, which significantly undersells what the park offers. Admission includes pools with water slides, an 18-hole mini golf course, a spray park, and multiple included animal interactions — not just animal viewing. Separately, the official website states clearly that advance booking is not required; you can visit on the day you choose, provided the park is open. Some third-party ticket platforms imply booking is mandatory — this is not the case.

Things to do near Krazy World

Silves is approximately 15 km west. The historic town has one of the Algarve’s best-preserved Moorish castles (Castelo de Silves), a Gothic cathedral, and a riverside area with restaurants. It suits a quiet afternoon after a busy day at the park.

Armação de Pêra is around 20 km south-west. The town has one of the longest sandy beaches in the central Algarve, a small historic fortress chapel on the headland, and a fish market. It is a practical seaside stop.

Algoz town is approximately 3 km from the park. The small inland village is compact, with a few cafés and local shops, and serves as a practical base for the area.

Alcantarilha is around 10 km south-east. The village is known for the small but striking Igreja da Misericórdia, whose interior walls are decorated with human bones — a Portuguese ossuary tradition similar to those in Faro and Évora.

Slide & Splash water park is approximately 20 km south-west, near Estombar in Lagoa. It can be combined in the same trip if visiting by car, though most families will find one major attraction per day sufficient with young children.

What to visit tomorrow: animal parks and zoos near Krazy World

Zoomarine Algarve, Guia is approximately 25 km south-east. A marine theme park with dolphin, sea lion, and stingray shows, water rides, a pool area, and a small zoo section. It is a full-day attraction popular with families, and operates on a similar season to Krazy World.

Lagos Zoological Park, Barão de São João is approximately 50 km west. A privately run zoo in a rural setting near Lagos, with a range of animals including primates, big cats, reptiles, and birds. It is smaller than Krazy World but shares the hands-on, small-zoo format.

Badoca Safari Park, Vila Nova de Santo André is approximately 120 km north. A drive-through and walk-through safari park in the Alentejo coastal region, with giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and other African savannah species. It is a different format from Krazy World but suits a day trip for families wanting a larger animal experience.

Lisbon Zoo (Jardim Zoológico de Lisboa) is approximately 230 km north of Algoz — at the outer limit of a two-hour drive. It is the main national zoo, with a dolphin show, cable car, and a wide range of species. Better suited as an overnight trip than a day excursion from the central Algarve.

Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana, Mértola is approximately 130 km north-east. Not a zoo, but a protected natural area with significant birdlife including black storks, white storks, Egyptian vultures, and Bonelli’s eagles. Guided birdwatching tours depart from Mértola and suit visitors interested in wildlife in a natural setting.
