Berlin and Munich are two of Europe’s greatest cities, offering a very different taste of Germany from each other. It’s also easy enough to string the two cities together if you fancy a twin-centre holiday or are making a longer trip around Europe by rail.

Generally, you need to book about two weeks in advance to get cheaper fares. For most services, the cheapest fare on the Berlin to Munich train is €69.99. However, if you travel in the late afternoon or early evening, there can be the odd cheaper deal around the €55.99 mark.

The closer to your travel date, the more expensive the tickets tend to be. Booking on the day, the cheapest Berlin to Munich train ticket I could find cost an excruciating €185.99.

So, save yourself a significant amount of money, and book that Berlin to Munich train in advance.
